Mark your calendars! The Brasilia Hash House Harriers run every 2 weeks. Next run: October 17 Zombie Hash.
Volunteer to hare a run! Absolutely no experience necessary and you will receive the accolades of the group, as well as discover parts of the city you would not be able to see from a car! Interested? Contact PP (9673-4694) or leave a comment on this page.
Contrary to its motto, you neither have to be a “drinker”, nor a “runner” to enjoy the Hash! All you really need is a sense of humor. Every hash is different, but in most places, you run or walk for around an hour or so, following a pre-set trail. Sometimes the trail includes a “refreshment” stop or two. Good trails are set so that the slower movers can keep pace with the faster. Afterwards, the pack hangs around for a bit of drinking, eating, singing, ribald humor and general merriment.ON-ON to the Hash!HHH history
How HHH works
One harrier (the hare) lays a trail of flour over a course (s)he chooses. The other harriers (the hounds) try to follow that trail to the end where they enjoy munchies and beer (or soft drinks). The typical hash is 3-5 miles over hill and dale, through suburbs, woods, malls, et al. The hash isn’t a race, there are no prizes to the swift. Following the trail is the challenge, camaraderie and beverages are the rewards.
