Party: “Day of the King” with the Embassy of the Netherlands, May 1

diadorei

On May 1, the Embassy of the Netherlands will celebrate the Day of the King, a party to celebrate the birthday of the monarch in which everyone wears their orange clothes.

Santuario, in partnership with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, will celebrate for the first time this great date and, of course, in style. For the first time we will offer draft beer of two of the most traditional Dutch beers:

HEINEKEN (1 draft beer 300ml for $ 10, 3 draft beers for $ 25)
AMSTEL PULSE (1 draft beer 300ml for $ 10, 3 draft beers for $ 25)

In addition to special Dutch beers:

Emelisse PORTER
LA TRAPPE Quadrupel

But the fun won’t stop there:

>> 6 draft beers from different corners of the planet
>> Special Cups King Day to the first 200 who come wearing orange.
>> A fine selection of rock n ‘roll prepared by the staff of the Sanctuary and our partner Daniel Spot.
>> Lucky Draw of many gifts directly from the Netherlands

Details Confirmed! Brasilia Hash Harriers Run, January 30

DETAILS CONFIRMED! Join the Brasilia Hash House Harriers as we celebrate pre-carnaval in the nation’s capitol. Saturday’s hash will be a traditional-style trail (mostly urban) with stops at 2 of the city’s biggest bloco parties.Get out your feather boa, your masks, or any other costume bits to adorn yourself for the festivities (if you want to dress in conjunction with the bloco themes, your choices are 1) blind chicken 2) cleopatra/king tut).
NOTE: This will be an A-B hash. For those not versed in the lingo, this means the hash will end at a different point than where it started. This was absolutely done on purpose so that revelers could stay and enjoy the second bloco for as long as they want, and so we didn‘t have to worry about trying to park near a crazy party. But never fear! We’ve designed the trail so that you could take a subway back to the starting point, and the hares have graciously offered to shuttle as many people as they can back by car (perhaps we can beat Cairo’s record of having 8 hashers in a CRV?). Plus there is always our good friend Uber.
YET ANOTHER NOTE: Please see the time change….we’re starting this hash early….at the ungodly hour of 1 p.m. in fact. This will give us maximum bloco enjoyment time, and is a lame attempt to get ahead of the torrential downpours that have been occuring precisely at 3 p.m. on Saturdays.

Now that your eyes have glazed over, here’s the reader’s digest version:

What: Bloco Hop Hash
When: Saturday, January 30 at 1 p.m. ***************
Where: See Facebook for the Location

Cost: R$20 gets you the run, the fun, carnival surprises, and beer / water / soda.
Kid / Dog Friendly: Trail is paved through residential / commerical areas. There may be some shenanigans going on at the various blocos, as that is the whole point.
Lost / Questions: Call PP (9673-4694)
Theme: CARNAVAL craziness. Come in costume or accesorize if you like. But remember, this is a hash, not a pub crawl, so some walking and running will be involved. (Distance around 3 miles).

MARK YOUR CALENDER: Next hash will be February 13 and will be hared by Opulence and CI!

VOLUNTEER: Hare the next hash and be the coolest kid on the Bloco. It’s easier than it looks, and we’re happy to help. Contact PP to arrange a date today.

Hash Information:
Contrary to its motto, you neither have to be a “drinker”, nor a “runner” to enjoy the Hash! All you really need is a sense of humor. Every hash is different, but in most places, you run or walk for around an hour or so, following a pre-set trail. Sometimes the trail includes a “refreshment” stop or two. Good trails are set so that the slower movers can keep pace with the faster. Afterwards, the pack hangs around for a bit of drinking, eating, singing, ribald humor and general merriment.ON-ON to the Hash!
How HHH works
One harrier (the hare) lays a trail of flour over a course (s)he chooses. The other harriers (the hounds) try to follow that trail to the end where they enjoy munchies and beer (or soft drinks). The typical hash is 3-5 miles over hill and dale, through suburbs, woods, malls, et al. The hash isn’t a race, there are no prizes to the swift. Following the trail is the challenge, camaraderie and beverages are the rewards.

Save the Date! Brasilia Hash House Harriers Run/Walk, November 21

Come see the labels of Schornstein, one of the best and most awarded national breweries:

Weiss – With 5.0% alcohol content, this is a wheat beer of light amber color, cloudy with excellent creaming. It presents the characteristic aroma style, with banana and clove in evidence and even citrus notes. Its flavor is remarkable and very pleasant, light beer and very refreshing.

Witbier – With 5.0% alcohol content, is refreshing and tasty. Suitable for warmer seasons. Clear and cloudy beer that takes its composition a wheat percentage and spices. Fresh, delicate and citrus notes of coriander, orange and tangerine.

India Pale Ale (IPA) – Strong and dark, style India Pale Ale. With 6.8% alcohol IPA presents our amber color, it is bright and displays a dense cream. Floral, citrus and fruity aroma. It’s refreshing, showing spicy notes and the characteristic bitterness of style.

Bock – is a strong and stout beer with 7.0% alcohol. It is reddish and shows a beautiful, creamy foam light brown. Pleasant aroma that combines caramel, wood and toasted notes. Features that are shown in the mouth, with a touch slightly sweet, alcoholic and full-bodied.

Imperial Stout – With 8.0% alcohol, is presented with thick black, brown and persistent cream. Its aroma brings coffee, chocolate, caramel and roasted. Your palate shows the characteristics of roasted malts, with velvety texture, slightly bitter and sweet. Strong beer, very full-bodied.

Born in Pomerode, the most German city in Brazil, Schornstein brewery rescues the natural talent to brew brought the first German immigrants who settled in the European Valley, in Santa Catarina.
